hot sauce

Jinx, age 10, is eating ramen noodles with Sriracha sauce, so we are discussing the provenance of hot sauces.

Jinx: Funny, I don't really think of Japan or China as being Asian countries.

Me: Well, you might want to start, since those are the countries most people would immediately identify as part of Asia.

[pause]

Me: So what countries do you think of when you think of Asia?

Jinx: Hmm, I'm not sure.

Then he starts choking, apparently having ingested too much Sriracha sauce in one go.

Jinx: Wow, I just evaporated many cells.

He claims that the sauce has not only given him heartburn, it has chapped his lips.
